Surprisingly busy. Roadside location. They made a total error around food and it took 45 minutes for 3 courses to appear. That much said the food when it arrived was good, very good. We have a local self catering accommodation and before we make a decision about suggesting it to visitors it will definitely give it a second try as the food was well flavoured and tasty. Can't give it 5 stars given the problems
We've been regulars ( once a week ) and loved the pub; food, beer and service excellent.Our first visit since the change of ownership was very, very disappointing.Menu reduced to pub grub. Quality poor and hardly a server to be found behind the bar.Hopefully this is just settling in problems but somehow we feel one of the best pubs in East Devon is lost to us.
a very good place to eat and very delicious. the options of food was amazing. there was burgers sandwiches and lots more. if you wanted a burger you can have it. if you wanted fish you can have it. very good would suggest you go there to eat.
Not the cheapest, but has really good quality steak, burgers & daily fresh fish dishes. Puddings are a bit uninspired apart from the (in)famous Blue Ball Belly Buster for two (or quite easily for four)- a massive dish of ice cream, cream, chocolate and marshmallow. Cheese board had 3 good size peices on it, they were fine but not that interesting.
Lovely, cosy atmosphere. Wonderful food. Very friendly staff. You can eat in the Restaurant or the Bar area. Both equally comfortable. Recommend.
